Jewellery Care
A few habits that will keep your pieces looking the way they did on day one.
Last on, first off
Put your jewellery on after perfume, lotion and hairspray, and take it off before anything else. Cosmetics are the fastest way to dull a finish.
Keep it dry
Remove pieces before swimming, bathing or exercising. Chlorine and sweat both attack plating and can loosen stone settings over time.
Store separately
Store each piece in its own pouch or compartment. Jewellery scratches jewellery — a shared box is the most common cause of damage we see.
Clean gently
Wipe with a soft, dry cloth after each wear. Never use chemical cleaners or ultrasonic machines on kundan, polki or pearl — they will destroy the setting.
A note on kundan and polki: these are set with natural lac, not glue. Never soak them, and never use an ultrasonic cleaner — the lac softens and the stones will lift. A dry cloth is all they ever need.
